Pink Eye Fix

"Pink eye" or conjunctivitis, is an inflammation of the thin membrane covering the eyelid and the white of the eye. It causes redness, watery eyes, discharge, and swollen eyelids. Most cases of pink eye are caused by a virus and is contagious. Most of the time it can be treated at home and usually clears in 1–2 weeks. Antibiotics are rarely needed, as both viral and bacterial conjunctivitis often clear up on their own.
How to relieve pink eye symptoms:

1. Keep your eyes clean.

Gently wipe away discharge with a clean, damp, lint-free cloth—always wiping from the inner to outer corner. Wash your hands often and avoid touching your eyes.

2. Use a warm or cool compress.

Apply a clean, moist cloth to the affected eye to ease discomfort. Use a separate cloth for each eye to prevent spreading.

3. Try lubricating eye drops.

Over-the-counter artificial tears may soothe irritation. Avoid redness-reducing drops—they can worsen symptoms.

4. Know when to see a doctor.
Seek medical help if you have:

• Moderate to severe eye pain
• Blurred vision that does not clear
• Light sensitivity
• Swelling or warmth around the eye
• Worsening symptoms after 3 days
• Vision loss

Consult a doctor immediately if you:

• Wear contact lenses and have eye pain
• Had recent eye injury or surgery
• Are immunocompromised
• Have an infant under 6 months with symptoms
